Why would a physician order tests (3 MRI's) and then not want to give you the results?

Call your insurance company and tell them not to pay for the test. Advise them that they could have been fraudulently billed. This is a scam offices use to make money. If the test was not indicated they should not have performed it. A person can go to the office where the MRI was taken and get a copy of the actual films for a fee and then take them to there doctor for reading.
