F I ground a charge to a piece of metal, will it shock me if I touch it?
I was going to open up a CRT monitor. However, the I learned of the Anode Cap (The one that goes BOOM! if you touch it). So to discharge it, someone told me to connect one end of an alligator clip to the metal part of an insulated screwdriver, and then connect the other end to the monitor casing, which is made of metal. Then I should slip the end of the screwdriver under the anode. If I do this, and touch the casing, will it shock me? Also, please share any other ways you have to discharge an anode. The particular monitor I am using is a Compaq one from 1998 or so.
