Can anyone tell me the cheapest way to get around in london? bus, tram train?

I went to London this summer... using the Underground is by far the cheapest. The London Underground is the best I've ever been on. It'll take you anywhere very easily. Check into an Oyster P. It's deals on daily or weekly riding. London is awesome. You'll love it.
