I'd get the Al. And as far as steel string clical goes, Fender and Martin make some Brazilian Rosewood guitars that fit (or come close) to this description. They differ from truly clical guiatrs in that the fretboard isn't the full 2 inches -- its like 1 7/8 or 1 13/16 or something like that, and the bracing/truss is different than a clical. But the look/shape mimics a clical, and they have slotted headstocks. they are both waaay over 2k MSRP. Thats probably what you're looking at.
